Pantone Color Institute Releases Pantone Fashion Colour Trend Report Autumn/Winter 2020/2021 For New York Fashion Week

A rich narrative of colour prioritising longevity and versatility

CARLSTADT, N.J., February 6, 2020 – Pantone LLC, the global authority on colour and provider of professional colour standards for the design industries, today released the Pantone® Fashion Colour Trend Report Autumn/Winter 2020/2021 edition for New York Fashion Week. Published for the fashion industry by the Pantone Color Institute, the trend forecasting and colour consultancy, this season’s report features the top ten standout colours, as well as current takes on the four classic neutrals we can expect to see on the runway as fashion designers introduce their new autumn/winter collections.

According to Pantone Color Institute experts, colours for Autumn/Winter 2020/2021 New York reflect our interest in desirable seasonal classics imbued with personality. Colours whose timelessness and versatility convey a level of functionality, and at the same time lend themselves to unique colour statements that stand out. These colours encourage creativity as well as pragmatism, reflecting the changing mindset of today’s consumer, who prioritises value and longevity over colour choices that are here today and gone tomorrow.

A radiant autumnal orange, Amberglow promotes self-confidence and creative self-expression.

A voluptuous sultry red, Samba introduces an upbeat energy.

Additionally, during New York Fashion Week, Pantone partner Artechouse will open its 2020 NYC season with Submerge, an immersive exploration featuring Pantone’s Color of the Year (and NYFW Fashion Colour Trend report selection), Classic Blue.
